Arutyunyan silences Yunovidov to claim WBA interim world title
Armenian boxer Vartan Arutyunyan silenced Georgiy Yunovidov to win the World Boxing Association (WBA) interim bridger (101.6 kg) world title at the Tractor Ice Arena, Chelyabinsk, Russia.

"Arutryunyan stopped Yunovidov via technical knockout (TKO) in the sixth round after launching a barrage of hard hooks ," the WBA reported on its official website, which was monitored in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Home boxer Yunovidov opened the bout with a disciplined and calculated approach. He displayed a clean slate, relying on pure boxing technique, footwork, and punching range to maintain distance and control the pace from the opening round.

This strategy initially made it difficult for Arutyunyan to find an opening to land a clean attack. However, Arutyunyan showed a strong intention from the start to take control of the fight.

He consistently pressed forward with an aggressive style, cutting off the angles of the ring, and forcing Yunovidov into close-range exchanges.

The constant pressure slowly began to disrupt the rhythm of the opponent's game and opened up opportunities for Arutyunyan to maximize the power of his punches.

The turning point of the fight came in the fifth round. A sharp combination from Arutyunyan, starting with a straight punch and ending with a hard hook , sent Yunovidov to the canvas.

That moment drastically changed the match and boosted the challenger's confidence. Although Yunovidov managed to recover and finish the round, his condition began to decline.
