Charlotte Hornets acquire Tyus Jones from Orlando Magic
The Charlotte Hornets added depth outside the paint by acquiring experienced guard Tyus Jones from the Orlando Magic in a deal before the 2025-2026 NBA midseason transfer window closes.

The NBA website stated Thursday that in the deal, the Hornets received Jones along with two second-round draft picks , while the Magic received cash compensation.

Jones is an NBA player with 11 seasons of experience.

His presence is expected to help the club strengthen its guard rotation in an effort to pursue a chance to appear in the SoFi or NBA Play-In tournament, which is an additional tournament that determines the final two playoff tickets in each conference, namely the West and East.

Hornets management believes Jones' added experience and composure could have a positive impact in the final stages of the regular season.

This season, Jones averaged three points per game (ppg), 1.1 rebounds per game (rpg), and 2.4 assists per game (apg) with the Orlando Magic.
