Chinese athlete Ning Zhongyan won a bronze medal in the men's 1,000-meter speed skating event , marking China's first medal in the ice skating event at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
Meanwhile, Swiss athlete Franjo von Allmen won the gold medal in the men's super-G, making him the third male alpine skier in history to win three gold medals at a single Winter Olympics.
To secure his first Olympic victory, Ning clocked a time of 1 minute 7.34 seconds, his best low-altitude time of the season. Jordan Stolz of the United States won gold with a time of 1 minute 6.28 seconds, breaking the previous Olympic record set by Dutch athlete Gerard van Velde in Salt Lake City 2002. Stolz finished 0.5 seconds faster than Dutch silver medalist Jenning de Boo.
Von Allmen (24) added to his collection of gold medals in the super-G after previously winning gold in the downhill and team combined events .
He won his third gold medal with a winning time of 1 minute 25.32 seconds. He joins Austria's Toni Sailer (1956) and France's Jean-Claude Killy (1968) as the only male alpine skiers to win three gold medals in a single Olympic Games.

In the women's doubles, champion pair Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer clocked 1 minute 46.284 seconds, beating German pair Dajana Eitberger and Magdalena Matschina by 0.120 seconds, while Austrian pair Selina Egle and Lara Michaela Kipp took third place.
