Austrian ski jumper Daniel Schöning has been disqualified from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy due to a violation related to the size of his ski boots.

According to Agence France-Presse, the player's shoe size exceeded the permitted limit by four millimeters, which was considered a clear violation of the technical regulations adopted in the competition.

Chuving had qualified for the final before undergoing an equipment check, where measurements revealed an overstep, leading to his official disqualification.

The Austrian skier commented on the decision, saying: "Unfortunately, I was naive and didn't check the measurements. This is a very stupid mistake on my part, but rules are rules."

It is worth noting that the final of the big hill jumping took place yesterday, Saturday, and the Slovenian Domin Previc succeeded in winning the gold medal.
