Hector Souto: The pressure is on Iran, not Indonesia
Indonesian national futsal team coach Hector Souto said his team will face the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup final at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Saturday (February 7) at 7:00 p.m. WIB without any pressure at all.

According to Souto, Indonesia couldn't possibly feel pressured, as this was their first time in the Asian Futsal Cup final.

On the other hand, Souto said the pressure is solely on Iran, which has won 13 of the 17 editions of the Asian Futsal Cup, which has been played since 1999 in Malaysia. Iran must win in the final to maintain its reputation.

"How can we possibly be under pressure if this is our first final? Iran has played 105 AFC matches and lost only four. Where is the pressure on us?" Souto said at a pre-match press conference at the Indonesia Arena.

"It's Iran that has to bear the pressure. Iran has a tradition of winning in the AFC. They have quality, many players who have played abroad, a strong squad, and a good ecosystem from the start," he said.
