Brian Ick: We don't want to lose at home
Indonesian national futsal team player Wendy Brian Ick revealed that her team's motivation to win the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup is because they don't want to lose at home.

Indonesia will play in the final against Iran, who are aiming for their 14th title, at the Indonesia Arena on Saturday (7/2) at 19.00 WIB.

"To motivate ourselves and our teammates, we feel like this is our home ground. And we don't want to lose on our own turf," said the Jayapura player at a pre-match press conference at the Indonesia Arena.

Brian then said that Indonesia would not feel any pressure in the final match because this was the first time his team had advanced to the final.

Previously, Indonesia recorded its best performance in the Asian Futsal Cup after advancing to the semifinals on Tuesday, after defeating Vietnam 3-2 in the quarterfinals.

Indonesia then made new history after playing in the final for the first time on Thursday (5/2), when they beat Japan 5-3 in the semifinal match which was completed until extra time.

"As for pressure, I don't think there's any, because this is Indonesia's first time in the final. So I don't think there's any pressure at all," said Brian.

Brian also admitted there was nothing special about his team's 5-3 defeat to Japan in the semifinals. He said the key to victory against Kensuke Takahashi's team was following the instructions of coach Hector Souto.

"I don't think there are any special tactics. We just follow Coach Hector's instructions in the dressing room, and I will carry that out," said Brian, who won the best player award when he led Indonesia to victory in the 2024 AFF Futsal Cup.

Brian has been a regular fixture in the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup, scoring one goal in the 3-2 victory over Vietnam.
