Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat) is introducing a feature that can detect calls, messages, and links with spam and scam risks to protect customers from potential digital fraud.
This artificial intelligence (AI) -based feature was developed with Tanla through its platform, Wisely AI.
"Through collaboration with technology partners like Tanla, we are delivering more proactive and adaptive protection. AI technology in our network helps filter threats before they impact customers," said Indosat President Director and Chief Executive Officer Vikram Sinha in Jakarta on Friday.
Indosat's internal data shows that most threats come from OTP fraud, phishing , and fake lotteries with the main channels being SMS and voice calls.
According to company data, suspicious activity increases during certain periods, such as before holidays, the online shopping season, and the social assistance disbursement period.
The protection features presented by Indosat also encourage customer involvement in prevention efforts.
Since its launch six months ago, more than 2.5 million people have activated the feature and recorded more than 124,000 numbers used for fraudulent activities.
