Indonesian national team midfielder Ivar Jenner officially joined Indonesian club Dewa United Banten FC on Friday.The 22-year-old was signed from Dutch League club FC Utrecht and will play for Banten Warriors until the end of the season. His presence is expected to strengthen Dewa United's midfield, given his experience playing in Europe and international experience with the national team.
In an introductory session at Dewa United Arena, Tangerang, Friday (6/2), Ivar said his football journey in the Netherlands was an important foundation in the development of his career.
"I think my experience playing football in the Netherlands was excellent. I spent two years playing in Ajax's youth team before moving to FC Utrecht at the age of 12," Ivar said, as quoted in an official statement.
He added that while playing for FC Utrecht, he had the opportunity to play for the first team and recorded many minutes of playing time in the Dutch second division with the club's second team.
“That experience gave me important flying hours,” he said.
