Indonesian national futsal team player Ardiansyah Nur is determined to lead his team to victory in the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup on home soil after advancing to the final to face Iran at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Saturday (7/2) at 19.00 WIB.
This final marks a new milestone for Indonesia, who are playing in the final for the first time, after previously defeating Japan 5-3 in the semifinal match at the Indonesia Arena on Thursday.
"We're focused on recovery, and we'll do whatever it takes. It would be a shame if we don't win," said the player, known as Anca, while answering ANTARA's questions in the Indonesia Arena mixed zone after defeating Japan.
Anca did not score a goal in the semifinal match, but he played an important role in Indonesia's second goal which was scored through an own goal by Takehiro Motoishi (23').
At that time, he made a hard shot and Takehiro, who had anticipated the ball incorrectly, instead made the ball go into his own goal.
The goal almost gave Indonesia a 3-2 win in normal time, but in the last 30 seconds, Japan captain Kazuya Shimizu forced the match into extra time with a penalty goal.
After drama after drama in normal time, Indonesia ended the match with a win thanks to goals from Reza Gunawan and Dewa Rizki in extra time.
"This match was indeed very difficult, yes, we had anticipated it because Japan is not an ordinary country, not used to being in finals, and they have also won," said Anca, assessing the very intense 50-minute semifinal match.
