Joan Laporta has officially decided to resign as president of Barcelona, as part of the procedures leading up to the club's presidential election.
This decision was made in accordance with statutory provisions to allow him to run again in the upcoming election.
Barcelona confirmed in an official statement that several members of the board of directors have also resigned to participate in the re-election process.
