The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced the participants for the 2026 3-Point Contest All-Star, which will be held at the Intuit Dome, Inglewood, California, United States (US), on Saturday (February 14).
The NBA website stated on Monday that the event will be the opening act for the NBA All-Star Saturday series, which will be broadcast starting at 5 p.m. local time on NBC and Peacock.
Five players lead the list of participants this season: Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), and Norman Powell (Miami Heat).
Three other names who took part were Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), and Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks).
This year's contest also features two former champions: Booker, who won the 2018 edition, and Lillard, who won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
Lillard has a chance to equal the record of three titles currently held jointly by Larry Bird and Craig Hodges.
Meanwhile, four players will make their debuts in the event: Knueppel, Maxey, Murray, and Portis. Knueppel has the opportunity to make history as the first rookie to win the three-point contest.
In a two-round format, each participant tries to collect as many points as possible from a number of three-point shooting spots within 70 seconds.
The three highest scorers in the first round will advance to the final round, with the highest scorer being crowned champion.
