In the latest developments, medical sources reported the death of a young Palestinian man east of Khan Younis as a result of gunfire from Israeli forces. Eyewitnesses explained that the Israeli occupation army shot the Palestinian inside an area it occupies in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation army still occupies more than 50% of the Gaza Strip, represented by the southern and eastern strips and large parts of the north.
Earlier in the afternoon, Nasser Hospital announced in a brief statement the martyrdom of a young Palestinian man shot by the Israeli occupation army near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of the city.
Meanwhile, witnesses reported that the eastern areas of Khan Younis witnessed heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles stationed in their deployment areas since the morning.
According to witnesses, Israeli vehicles also opened fire near the "Morag" axis north of Rafah city (south), while artillery shelled the eastern areas of Al-Bureij camp (central).
In Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli vehicles opened fire towards the eastern areas of Beit Lahia, while artillery shelled the vicinity of Al-Sikka Street, east of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, without any reported injuries.
This comes as part of Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement that began on October 10, 2025. These violations have resulted, up to Monday, in the deaths of 603 Palestinians and injuries to 1,618 others, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
13 prisoners
In a related context, the Israeli occupation army released 13 Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, including a woman, who had been arrested earlier during the two years of the genocidal war.
This comes as part of the occasional releases of prisoners from the Gaza Strip, who have been held for months in Israeli prisons that lack the minimum humanitarian standards, and where they are subjected to torture, according to documented testimonies.
The International Committee of the Red Cross said in a statement that it facilitated the transfer of 13 prisoners released by Israel from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing in the southern Gaza Strip. It stated that it transferred the prisoners to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, and facilitated their communication with their families and their reunification with them.
On October 7, 2023, Israel began a two-year genocide in Gaza, which resulted in over 72,000 Palestinian martyrs and 171,000 wounded, in addition to massive destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
