Nutritionist Dr. Rita Ramayulis, DCN, M.Kes, stated the need to regulate food consumption to meet the body's fiber needs while fasting.
He said that the daily fiber requirement for adults, which is around 25 to 30 grams per day, should be met through food consumed during sahur and breaking the fast.
"The challenge lies in mealtimes, where we only have two large meals, while the source of fiber is mostly vegetables, which are usually consumed with staple foods and side dishes," Rita said when contacted
The lecturer at Faletehan University, Serang, reminded us of the importance of including food sources of fiber such as vegetables and fruit in the diet for breaking the fast and sahur.
