Pertina: Jakarta to host 2026 Asian U23 and Youth Boxing Championships
The Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association (Pertina) Central Board officially announced that Jakarta has been selected as the host of the prestigious IBA Asian U23 and Youth Men & Women Open Boxing Championships on April 5.

In a written statement in Manado on Saturday, the Chairperson of the Pertina Central Board, Hillary Brigitta Lasut, said that Indonesia is once again ready to make history in the international sporting arena because it has been appointed as the host.

"Our target is to achieve success in the sport of boxing and support the younger generation in finding a platform to showcase their talents," said Hillary.

Lasut believes that choosing Jakarta as the host brings a nostalgic spirit to the glory days of world boxing.

Indonesia last made history when it hosted the Asian Boxing Championships in 1977. At that time, two Indonesian boxing legends, Syamsul Anwar Harahap and Benny Maniani, successfully contributed the first gold medal for Indonesia.
