PSIM Yogyakarta's new foreign defender, Jop van de Avert, has the opportunity to make his debut in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League's 21st week match against Persik Kediri at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium, Friday (13/2) at 15.30 WIB.
Jop arrived midway through the season after being announced as a new recruit in Laskar Mataram's defense last week.
"Jop's physical condition is quite good because he trained six times a week in the Netherlands. We brought him in as a center-back, although he can also play on the left," said PSM coach Jean-Paul van Gastel regarding the potential debut of the Dutch player, who has played for NAC Breda, Willem II, and FC Dordrecht, as quoted on the club's official website on Wednesday.
Not only is Van de Avert's debut a possibility, PSIM also received other positive news in the upcoming match after Deri Corfe, a player who had missed PSIM's last two matches, was able to return.
"Corfe was out for two weeks. Today was basically his first training session, and he did well, so he's available to play," said the Dutch coach.
