Coach Roberto De Zerbi has officially parted ways with Marseille after both parties agreed to end their collaboration, according to the club's official website on Wednesday.
Both parties agreed to end their collaboration after Marseille suffered a 0-5 defeat to hosts Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Parc des Princes on Monday morning in the French League this season.
"Olympique de Marseille and Roberto De Zerbi, the first team coach, have announced the end of their collaboration by mutual agreement," Marseille wrote.
"Following discussions between all stakeholders in the club's management—the owner, the president, the director of football and the coach—it was decided to make changes at the top of the first team," Marseille added.
Marseille wrote that this decision was made with great difficulty. Ultimately, they expressed their gratitude to the Italian coach, who has been in charge of Marseille since July 2024.
