Egyptian star Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at the expense of their guest Brighton, with a 3-0 victory over them in the match that brought them together on Saturday evening.
Salah scored the third goal for the Reds from a penalty kick in the 68th minute, and set up the second goal scored by his Hungarian teammate Dominik Szoboszlai in the 56th minute of the match, which took place at Anfield Stadium.
Mohamed Salah told British network TNT Sports after the match: "There was definitely pressure during the penalty kick, but I am happy that we were able to win today, and it was very important for us to build confidence for the upcoming matches."
The Egyptian star pointed out that Liverpool relies heavily on the performance of his teammate Dominic Szoboszlai to win the FA Cup this season (2025-2026): "It will depend on Szoboszlai's performance (for Liverpool to win the FA Cup again), because we rely on him a lot this season. He is one of the best players in the world right now, and I hope he continues in this manner."
Mohamed Salah, 33, continued: "It's great to win titles, it's good for everyone, and hopefully we can do it again."
Liverpool have previously won the FA Cup, the oldest football competition in history, 8 times, most recently in 2022.
