Bandung bjb Tandamata maintained their chances of qualifying for the 2026 Proliga Final Four after securing a victory over Medan Falcons, although the result has not changed their position in sixth place in the standings with four wins.
Bandung bjb Tandamata defeated Medan Falcons with a score of 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-18, 25-18) in the second round of the 2026 Proliga at the Main GOR Bojonegoro, Saturday.
Although the team's position isn't secure, bjb Tandamata coach Risco Herlambang remains optimistic that his team can reach the top four. "As long as we win our remaining three matches," Risco said.
In the first set, bjb Tandamata fielded a full force of players, including Calista Maya, Shintia Alivia, Fitriyani, Rara, Anastasia Guerra, and Giulia Angelina. However, they were slow to react, allowing the Medan Falcons, led by Maya Indri and Vietnam's Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, to level the score at 7-7.
Falcons coach Marcos Sugiyama took a timeout when trailing 7-8. The strategy was effective, as the Falcons rebounded to take a 22-21 lead. Although Risco brought on Waode to strengthen the block and force a 24-24 tie, the Falcons played more composedly in the crucial points and took the first set 26-24.
Entering the second set, the duel was tight, reaching 5-5 before bjb Tandamata increased their attacking intensity and pulled away 11-7. The Falcons briefly narrowed the deficit to 15-17, but bjb Tandamata's mature play allowed them to close the set 25-19, leveling the score at 1-1.
