Solid Snake joins Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Solid Snake joins Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft is collaborating with Konami to bring Solid Snake to the game "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege X".

The legendary "Metal Gear Solid" character is the first guest operator from outside the Tom Clancy universe in 10 years.

The developers announced Canadian-American actor David Hayter as the English voice of the character because Solid Snake wouldn't be complete without his iconic voice, GameSpot reported on Monday.

Ubisoft Montreal Creative Director Joshua Mills explained in an interview with MobileSyrup that the idea of bringing Snake into the game came about when Sam Fisher (codename: Zero) from "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" was brought into the game "Rainbow Six Siege".

The Ubisoft team, with support from Konami, has worked closely to ensure Solid Snake fits into the competitive gameplay of “Rainbow Six Siege” while remaining true to the character in the original game.

Veteran Konami producer and programmer Yuji Korekado chose Solid Snake over other versions of Snake, such as Naked Snake (the veteran protagonist turned villain known as Big Boss), because he felt the younger Snake character would generate more fan enthusiasm when on screen with Sam Fisher.
