Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported that the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments related to Palestine during a telephone call on Monday.
On Sunday, the Israeli government approved a proposal to begin registering land in the West Bank as "state property" for the first time since 1967, with the aim of gradually annexing 15% of Area C by 2030, according to the newspaper Israel Hayom.
Under the 1995 Oslo II Agreement, the West Bank was temporarily divided into three areas: Area A, under full Palestinian control, and Area B, under Palestinian civil control and Israeli security control.
Area C constitutes about 61% of the West Bank and remains under Israeli control until a permanent status agreement is reached, which, according to the agreement, was supposed to be signed by May 1999.
The Palestinians consider these measures a prelude to the annexation of the West Bank, which undermines the two-state solution principle upon which UN resolutions are based.
