Nova Arianto said that the trial match between the Indonesian U-17 national team and China U-17 at the Indomilk Arena, Tangerang on Sunday (8/2) and Wednesday (11/2) was an opportunity for him to see the shortcomings of the Young Garuda.
Nova, who will still be in charge of this match, hopes he can find weaknesses in Indonesia's game in the upcoming match, before then the baton of head coach of the U-17 national team, which is preparing for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup, is handed over to Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto.
"There, we'll be able to see the current level of this team. Because if we look at the EPA, they're currently performing quite well and are currently in first place," said the coach, who has been promoted to lead the U-20 national team, during a team training session at the Indomilk Arena on Thursday.
"But I don't think that's a guarantee, because I'm sure the intensity and quality of the match will be different. And of course, in the match against China, I think the players will learn a lot that they can carry with them to the AFF Suzuki Cup and the upcoming Asian Cup," he said.
