Shayne was first announced by Persija as their new player, after he was announced on January 23. About a week later, the Garuda team player's presence at Persija increased when they announced the arrival of Mauro on February 4. Both players signed contracts for the next two and a half seasons.

Mauro's arrival gives Mauricio Souza's team four players capable of playing center forward. Prior to Mauro, Persija already had Gustavo Almeida, Eksel Runtukahu, and Alaeddine Ajaraie -- players who also arrived in the second half, like Shayne and Mauro.
