The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is preparing 302 participants in the National Internship Program to become digital talents who master artificial intelligence technology and actively help maintain cyberspace security.
Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said the program is part of President Prabowo Subianto's initiative to strengthen digital human resources to meet industry needs and support national technological transformation.
According to a ministry press release in Jakarta on Saturday, internship program participants were placed in units such as the Secretariat General, the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure, the Directorate General of Digital Government Technology, the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision, the Directorate General of Public Communication and Media, BPSDM, BAKTI, and LPP RRI.
Meutya stated that internship program participants were directly involved in implementing the ministry's strategic agenda, including preliminary review of draft regulations and strengthening digital policies.
"This isn't a ceremonial program. These interns must be empowered according to their respective abilities. They've even been involved in real work and strategic matters, such as the initial review of the Ministerial Regulation, which demonstrates our trust in them," he said.
He encouraged the internship program participants to master artificial intelligence and utilize it to increase productivity and economic added value.
"Don't stop at superficial uses of AI. Use AI technology to add economic value, expand knowledge, accelerate work, and increase productivity to keep up with young people in other countries," he said.
In addition to mastering technology, he said, young talents must be able to be part of the solution by helping to protect the digital space from the threat of hoaxes, online fraud, and cyber attacks.
