Shortly before the bombing, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee said in a statement: "Urgent warning to the residents of the Zeitoun neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of Umm al-Moun and al-Ma'madani al-Bariya streets, regarding the building marked in red and the residents in its vicinity."
Adraee attached to the statement a map indicating the location of the targeted building in red, calling for its "immediate evacuation".
He continued: "The Israeli army will attack the building in the near future," claiming that "there are Hamas infrastructures inside or near it," without specifying their nature.
Palestinian local sources reported that the building marked in red is the "Shaaban" building, located in an area not under the control of the occupation army according to the agreement, and it houses dozens of Palestinians.
Sources reported that hundreds of Palestinians in the threatened neighborhood began evacuating, fearing they would be injured in the anticipated Israeli attack.
This is the second building that the occupation army has warned to evacuate before targeting it in the sector since dawn on Friday, as it had previously destroyed a 4-story building belonging to the “Abu Hatab” family in the center of Khan Yunis city, which caused the injury of a Palestinian, the destruction of the building and caused extensive damage to the buildings and displacement tents located in its vicinity.
