Girona's on-loan goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, will have to undergo surgery for a hamstring injury, sidelining him for around two months.
"Marc-Andre ter Stegen will undergo surgery this Friday on the hamstring injury he sustained in the match against Real Oviedo," Girona wrote on their official account on Thursday.
"Recovery time will be determined after the surgical procedure is performed."
According to beIN Sports reports, Ter Stegen will need at least two months to recover.
Ter Stegen suffered a left thigh injury during Girona's defeat to Real Oviedo last week. Initially, the injury raised concerns that his loan spell would end early.
The 32-year-old German goalkeeper joined Girona on loan from Barcelona last month, after losing his starting spot to Joan Garcia.
Barcelona signed Garcia from Espanyol for a fee of 25 million Euros last summer.
