Chelsea and West Ham charged by FA for mass brawl
Chelsea and West Ham United have been charged by the FA following a mass brawl in the final minutes of their Premier League match at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

The FA website said on Thursday that the English football body had found Chelsea unable to prevent its players from behaving in an inappropriate and/or provocative manner, while West Ham were accused of failing to prevent their players from behaving in an inappropriate and/or provocative and/or violent manner.

Both clubs were given until Friday this week to respond to the charges.

The charge relates to a 95th-minute incident, which stemmed from a collision between West Ham winger Adama Traore and Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella on the touchline as the pair chased the ball towards a corner.

The incident culminated in Traore bringing down Cucurella, before Chelsea striker Joao Pedro pushed Traore in retaliation.

Within seconds, several players from both teams became involved. Following a VAR review, West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo was shown a red card for violent conduct, including choking Joao Pedro.
