Bahrain announces the death of an Emirati soldier and the injury of others as a result of "Iranian attacks"

The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced the death of an Emirati soldier who was performing his duties alongside Bahraini forces, while confronting what it described as "the heinous Iranian attacks."

A statement issued by the command said that it mourns the "martyr of duty" from the brotherly UAE Armed Forces, and offers condolences to the UAE Armed Forces and the martyr's family.

The statement also revealed that a number of Bahrain Defense Force personnel and their brothers from the UAE Armed Forces were injured while performing their national duty in repelling Iranian attacks. The command explained that the injured were immediately evacuated to receive the necessary medical care, noting that most of the injuries were minor to moderate, and that the majority of the injured were discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.

The General Command stressed that its men are "steadfast in their positions, defending with all firmness and determination the skies, waters and land of the homeland, confronting anyone who dares to compromise the security and stability of our dear kingdom."

In its statement, the leadership called for obtaining information from official sources and not spreading rumors, stressing that it is closely monitoring the health condition of the injured.

The statement comes at a time of unprecedented military escalation in the region, following a joint Israeli-American military operation against Iran on February 28, 2016, in response to what they described as "Iranian threats." Since then, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced missile and drone attacks against Israeli targets and US bases and interests in the Gulf region.
