The Saudi Defense Minister discusses strengthening military cooperation with his French counterpart and condemns "Iranian attacks".

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met with French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin, where they discussed bilateral relations in the defense field and ways to strengthen them.

This came in a post by the minister via the “X” platform, in which he explained that during the meeting, “the bilateral relations between our two friendly countries in the field of defense and ways to strengthen them were reviewed, and the developments of the current situation in the region and its repercussions on various levels were discussed.”

Prince Khalid bin Salman added that during the meeting, "the repeated Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom were condemned," without mentioning further details about those attacks.

The Saudi-French talks come within the framework of joint defense coordination between Riyadh and Paris, which have existing military and strategic partnerships, amid intensive international efforts to contain tension in the Gulf region.

The meeting also comes at a time when international calls are mounting for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy, amid fears that the continuation of the conflict could destabilize the region as a whole and the world at large.
