Following Iranian attacks, Qatar Energy announces the suspension of liquefied natural gas production.
Qatar Energy, the state-owned energy company, said in a statement: "Due to a military attack on its operational facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City in the State of Qatar, Qatar Energy has halted production of liquefied natural gas and related products."

Earlier today, the Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that energy facilities in a factory and an industrial city were attacked by two Iranian drones.

The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that Qatar was attacked by two drones from Iran, one of which targeted water tanks belonging to a factory in Mesaieed Power Plant, and the other targeted an energy facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City belonging to Qatar Energy Company, without any casualties.

She added: "All damages and losses resulting from the attack will be assessed by the relevant authorities, and we call on citizens, residents and visitors to remain calm and adhere to the instructions issued by the security authorities."

Qatar is one of the world's largest producers of liquefied natural gas, along with the United States, Australia and Russia, and it shares the largest natural gas reserves with Iran.

Qatar Energy, the state-owned company, estimates that Qatar’s share, the North Field, contains about 10% of the world’s known natural gas reserves.

Since Saturday morning, Israel and the United States have been waging a military aggression against Iran, resulting in the death and injury of hundreds, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior security officials.

Tehran responds by launching missile and drone barrages towards Israel and what it describes as "American bases in countries of the region," although some of these attacks have damaged civilian targets, which has been condemned by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Within three days, nine Arab countries – Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq – were attacked by Iran in response to the US-Israeli airstrikes.
