World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver women's flyweight (50.8 kg) champion Gabriela Sanchez and Tamara DeMarco are preparing for a rematch on April 28 in Puebla, Mexico, to seize the opportunity to challenge the WBC flyweight world champion.
"The winner of the fight will likely advance to a fight against the formidable undefeated champion, Gabriela Fundora," the WBC said in a statement on its official website.
The two fighters first fought in December 2025 in Puebla, Gabriela Sanchez's hometown. The fight ended prematurely due to an accidental clash of heads, which left Tamara with a severe laceration on her left eyebrow.
