Persib Bandung player Marc Klok emphasized that the 2026 FIFA World Cup Series tournament is a very important event for the Indonesian national team, which is now entering a new chapter under coach John Herdman.
"This tournament is very important because everyone knows there's a new coaching staff. Everything is starting from scratch, with a different philosophy and playing style," said Klok, as quoted on Persib's official website.
Klok was included in the first "Garuda Calling" of the Herdman era, with him being one of the 41 provisional squad announced by the English coach.
From Persib, Klok received this call-up, along with Beckham Putra and Eliano Reijnders. Thom Haye, who is usually called up, will be absent this time due to the four-match suspension he received for the final match of the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Iraq.
