"There is no construction in the region that will come from the state budget, but instead we are encouraging the regional governors to use the regional budget to prepare all the venues for the PON itself," said Marciano Norman regarding the development points for the 2028 PON reported in a meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir.
He explained that the 22nd National Games was originally planned to be held in only two provinces, East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. However, several sports venues were not available in those two provinces.
Therefore, he said, DKI Jakarta was chosen as a supporting province to host several matches because it has an international-standard arena that does not require any repairs because it is already in very good condition.
