The Indonesian-American Games (IAG) 2026, scheduled to take place in Chicago on June 19-21, has received support from the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo.
Dwisuryo believes that Davon Arjunaidi, a young diaspora member who initiated IAG 2026, has a positive spirit in initiating the event, which will involve hundreds of participants in eight sports.
"When I was his age, I also had the same energy to start positive things. This initiative is a good activity, and I personally support the 2026 Indonesian-American Games," said Dwisuryo in an official statement received .
Trisari Dyah Pramita, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Chicago, expressed similar support, believing that this event would strengthen community networks and national identity.
"We welcome this initiative by young Indonesians. We will communicate with the Indonesian Diaspora Network USA and request a special meeting with the event's initiators to clearly define the technical aspects of the 2026 Indonesian-American Games," Trisari said.
