The collaboration between the two companies enables more mobile users worldwide to receive disaster alerts from the Commercial Mobile Alert System , the Wireless Emergency Alerts platform , and the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System.
"The solution we are providing is to address the cellular coverage gaps that often occur during natural disasters and other emergencies, as well as being an important step towards the commercial deployment of standardized NR-NTN technology," said MediaTek's Corporate Senior VP and General Manager of the Wireless Communication Business Unit JC Hsu in a company press release received.
