Medvedev makes unusual journey from Dubai to Indian Wells
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has successfully arrived in Indian Wells to compete in the 2026 BNP Paribas Open after being stranded in Dubai following the country's decision to close its airspace due to tensions in the Middle East.

Medvedev, who won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships  along with two other tennis players, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov, who also participated in the ATP 500 event, had to take an unusual journey to get out of the United Arab Emirates.

"We arrived in Oman by car. Some are lucky enough to get there in four and a half hours, while others drive up to nine hours. We traveled for seven hours," Medvedev was quoted as saying by Russian tennis media outlet Bolshe Tennis.
