Indonesian U-20 national team coach Nova Arianto has called up 28 players to attend a training camp (TC) in Surabaya.

This training camp is used by the Young Garuda as part of their preparations for the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Championship (AFF U-19 Cup) which will take place on June 11-14, as well as the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers on August 29 to September 6.

"This call-up marks a crucial phase in the process of establishing the team's framework for these two international events. Surabaya was chosen as the location for the training camp to maximize focus and training intensity, as well as build camaraderie among the players, who come from different clubs and regions," the PSSI official website stated.

In terms of the composition of the players called up, Nova called up many old faces from his former foster children in the Indonesian U-17 national team who played in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

In addition to the old names, Nova also called up some rising stars in this call-up, one of whom is Persipura Jayapura player Reno Salampessy who has scored three goals and one assist with Mutiara Hitam in the Championship.

This squad also features a mix of promising young players. Players come from various professional clubs such as Persija Jakarta, Persib Bandung, Persebaya Surabaya, and Bali United, as well as from football academies like ASIOP, who have contributed their talents.

"For your information, this training camp in Surabaya is not just a selection process, but also a momentum to build a game identity. With a busy competition schedule and relatively short preparation time, the effectiveness of the training camp will significantly determine the team's readiness for official tournaments," PSSI continued.
