Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid emphasized that the Indonesian government will not compromise with digital platforms that do not comply with the mandate to protect children in the digital space in line with Government Regulation number 17 of 2025 concerning the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection .
"The government instructs all digital platforms doing business in Indonesia to immediately align their products, features, and services in accordance with applicable regulations. There is no compromise in terms of compliance, and that every business entity operating in Indonesia is required to comply with applicable laws in Indonesia," Meutya emphasized at the Ministry of Communication and Digital's Office.
On that occasion, Meutya also expressed appreciation for two digital platforms, namely X and Bigo Live, which have full compliance with PP Tunas. She also welcomed the TikTok and Roblox platforms which are categorized as platforms that are partially cooperative with PP Tunas.
Meanwhile, four other platforms, Facebook, Threads, Instagram, and YouTube, have not yet complied with the provisions of PP Tunas.
The Tunas PP is effective from March 28, 2026, and every business entity operating digitally is required to comply with the provisions of this regulation.
