Raducanu, Gauff cruise into third round at Indian Wells
British tennis player Emma Raducanu and American Coco Gauff secured straight-set victories to reach the third round of the 2025 BNP Paribas Open.

No. 25 seed Raducanu easily defeated qualifier Anastasia Zakharova 6-1, 6-3 in 1 hour and 22 minutes, while fourth seed Gauff defeated qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3, 7-6(5), according to WTA records.

For Gauff, this is the sixth consecutive year she has won a main-draw match at Indian Wells, making her the third-youngest player to do so, after Caroline Wozniacki and Lindsay Davenport.

The win paves the way for a potentially exciting third-round match against the winner of the next match between No. 31 seed Alex Eala and Dayana Yastremska.

Eala, a 20-year-old young tennis talent from the Philippines, has captured the hearts of global tennis fans.

"I feel like every time I play her, the score never reflects how tough a player she is," Gauff said in an on-court interview, as quoted by the WTA on Saturday.

"It was tough with the wind. He made you play a lot of uncomfortable balls and shots. It's never easy."

"I felt like if I could get to the tie-break , I felt like I had a pretty good tie-break record . I knew the odds were in my favor when the tie-break started," said the 21-year-old.
