Manchester City midfielder Rodri was fined 80,000 pounds sterling or around Rp1.6 billion and given a warning by the English Football Association (FA) after his comments to the media after the 24th week of the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur in early February.
The FA announced the sanctions on its official website as a result of Rodri's comments in a post-match interview which were deemed to have criticized the referee's leadership.
"The midfielder is alleged to have acted inappropriately in a post-match media interview by making comments that implied bias and/or questioned the integrity of the referee or match officials," the FA said in a statement.
The 29-year-old Spanish international had earlier expressed his disappointment after Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke's goal was allowed to stand in the 2-2 draw.
In replays, Solanke was seen to hit the back of Manchester City centre-back Marc Guehi's leg before scoring.
