Sinner dropped just two games in a convincing win at Indian Wells.
Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner put in a dominant performance in his opening match at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Saturday, defeating Czech qualifier Dalibor Svrcina 6-1, 6-1.

Aiming for her first Indian Wells trophy, the second seed overwhelmed Svrcina with powerful strokes en route to a 64-minute victory.

"I feel like mentally I'm in a good place," said Sinner, who was competing for the first time since his Doha loss to Jakub Mensik.

"I'm calm, I'm relaxed. But I'm also very happy to be competing. We've put in a lot of hard work. Hours on the court. Hours in the gym."

"I'm trying to get a little bit stronger physically. We're doing double training sessions, with almost no rest days at all," said the 24-year-old.

Sinner's best results in the California desert were semifinals in 2023 and 2024. If he wins the tournament in the next two weeks, he will complete his collection of titles at all six ATP Masters 1000 hardcourt tournaments.
