The Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy at the Ministry of Finance , Febrio Kacaribu, is optimistic that the Indonesian economy will continue to grow despite disruptions to the commodity supply chain due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz amid the conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran.
He said the Ministry of Finance will implement a government spending strategy that is evenly distributed across all quarters to continue driving national economic growth.
"We want economic growth to be more evenly distributed throughout the year, and we want government spending to be more evenly distributed," Febrio Kacaribu said at the APBN KiTA March 2026 Press Conference.
He further stated that the Ministry of Finance is striving to realize the government's spending budget more quickly, so that it is hoped that economic growth will be maintained to achieve the target of an annual increase of 5.4 percent by the end of 2026.
He said that the realization of state spending was recorded at IDR 493.8 trillion or 12.8 percent of the target, a 41.9 percent year-on-year increase as of February 28.
"The revenue side also makes it very possible for us to accelerate spending, because tax growth is above 30 percent," Febrio said.
The Ministry of Finance noted that tax revenue grew 30.4 percent year-on-year to IDR 245.1 trillion, or 10.4 percent of the target, by the end of February 2026.
