Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that two social media platforms have cooperated in complying with the provisions of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection ahead of this regulation becoming effective.
"Friends, there are two platforms that are fully cooperating in fulfilling their compliance obligations: platform X and the Bigo Live platform," said Meutya at the Ministry of Communication and Information's office.
For platform X, Meutya stated that she had changed the minimum age limit for users to 16 years old starting March 17, 2026.
