Xiaomi introduced an experimental artificial intelligence (AI) project called Xiaomi miclaw, an autonomous AI assistant designed to perform tasks across various applications and features on smartphones.
According to a Gizmochina release on Friday, Xiaomi described miclaw as an early-stage test product built on the company's in-house large language model (LLM) called MiMo.
Unlike conventional AI assistants that simply answer questions or generate text, miclaw is designed to understand user intent and complete tasks through direct interaction with various features and apps within the phone.
Once the user grants permission, the AI can access system functions as well as supported third-party applications to execute commands.
In this way, AI can determine for itself what features or applications need to be used and the steps that must be taken to complete a task.
For example, if a request requires opening an application, checking system data, or activating a certain feature, the AI will determine the necessary steps and execute them sequentially.
