Sports journalist Khaled Al-Shunaif settled the controversy surrounding the possibility of Saud Abdul Hamid, the star of French club Lens, returning to the ranks of Saudi club Al-Hilal during the upcoming transfer window
Khaled Al-Shunaif said in a television interview: "I am in constant contact with Saud Abdul Hamid and I asked him about the negotiations for his return to the Roshan League and he confirmed to me: 'I will not return to the Saudi League, I will continue in Europe and I am patient and I have a goal that I will achieve.'"
Al-Shunaif added: "We saw his goal yesterday with Lens in the French league and we will see more. The most important thing is to continue participating and then move to a stronger league, which will raise his market value and open the door for Saudi players to become professionals. We are happy with what he is offering."
With this goal, the Saudi player raised his tally to five goal contributions this season, after having previously scored two goals and made three assists, placing himself among the top five right-backs in terms of goal contributions in the competition this season.
Lens raised its tally to 62 points in second place, one point behind Paris Saint-Germain, which has two games in hand.
