Cashback platforms are becoming increasingly popular, making shopping more economical

The use of digital technology through cashback platforms and e-commerce is increasingly popular among the public as a cost-effective shopping strategy amid rising living costs and pressure on purchasing power.

The Central Statistics Agency  recorded Indonesia's annual inflation rate at 3.48 percent in March 2026, reflecting ongoing pressure on people's purchasing power. In line with this trend, online shopping continues to grow, perceived as offering easy access, efficiency, and various incentives, such as promotions and cashback, that can help people reduce spending.

MOVA Cashback Chief Commercial Officer Jennifer Tiffany Muliyanto, in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday, said changes in people's shopping behavior have encouraged increased use of digital platforms to manage expenses in a more measured manner.
