Game company SNK together with Plaion Replai announced the relaunch of the classic Neo Geo AES console in a modern version called Neo Geo AES+.
As reported by Engadget on Monday, the console is a modern version of the Neo Geo Advanced Entertainment System, which first launched in the 1990s. The original Neo Geo AES was priced at US$649.99 (Rp11.1 million), making it one of the most expensive consoles of its time.
As an update to adapt to the development of modern gaming technology, Neo Geo AES+ now features HDMI support with resolutions up to 1080p.
Additionally, SNK also added DIP switches at the bottom of the console that allow users to select languages, overclock , and change display modes.
Other new features include permanent storage of high scores via memory card as well as a power saving mode.
