Digital Culture and Communications expert Firman Kurniawan said that the policy implemented by Indonesia, namely Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection  could be a strengthening factor for other countries to restrict social media access for child users.

"It's a common concern about the negative impact of social media, or the uncontrolled use of social media that is detrimental to minors. Indonesia's decision to implement the Tunas Government Regulation, followed by other countries, could be a reinforcing factor," the man, who teaches at the University of Indonesia's Faculty of Philosophy.
