The government has emphasized that the risks of developing artificial intelligence ( AI) need to be mitigated through proper governance to ensure the security of public data.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that proper AI governance is needed because AI has become increasingly sophisticated and it is difficult to distinguish between the results of AI fabrication and actual conditions in the real world.
"We call it synthetic reality . This is our biggest challenge going forward in mitigating the situation," Nezar said, as quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
