The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs said the telecommunications network in North Sulawesi has recovered 98 percent

The Ministry of Communication and Digital stated that telecommunications networks in North Sulawesi had been restored to 98.2 percent on the same day after being hit by a 7.6 magnitude.

The Ministry confirmed that telecommunications services in the province had been restored quickly and were maintained.

The earthquake, centered 129 kilometers southeast of Bitung, caused disruptions at 223 locations, or approximately 9.97 percent of the 2,236 locations in the affected area. Telecommunications network restoration in the province was swift, with most services returning to normal within hours.

Network disruptions are caused by power supply, so telecommunications operators use generators while waiting for power to be restored so that telecommunications services can continue running.
