The Ministry of Communication and Digital  has temporarily postponed the implementation of the age-based game classification system, the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS), until the investigation and evaluation process of the system is complete.

"While waiting for all investigations and evaluations to be completed, we have decided to temporarily postpone the entire IGRS rating process . I reiterate that this postponement is only temporary," said Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.

An evaluation is underway to ensure that the IGRS can be implemented effectively and is trusted by both the public and industry players.

Sonny said that after the error in the display of the IGRS rating on the Steam distribution platform came to public attention, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs formed a special team to investigate the issue.

The investigation team examined all aspects of IGRS implementation, from the system and processes to its governance.
